Membership

The club has a waiting list of approximately two years. Anyone wishing to join can get an application form from the Secretary at the above address.Membership costs £100 per year.

There is also a junior section for boys and girls aged 12 & over and places are available at present costing £10 per year.

The Club will be holding an open day for juniors aged 12 & over in early May to try and attract some juniors to the sport, this will probably be a Sunday morning and will entail an introduction to the game of bowls, playing a couple of games and free soft drinks and crisps, the details will be finalised shortly, if anyone is interested please contact Jim Robertson who is Junior Convenyor on 01698 791389.

Matches are played on various evenings and weekends until September and anyone is free to come along and watch and would be made most welcome.

Christmas Festival Committee

In March 2001 a community led initiative resulted in the establishment of Stonehouse Christmas Festival Committee. The project has been an overwhelming success in such a short period of time and has been successful in raising over £4500 through local fundraising activities and grant assistance from various local busineses, the Coop Dividend scheme and South Lanarkshire Council.

Originally initiated to provide festive decoration for the village, the project has developed into a celebration of Christmas, with the committee organising a series of festive events and activities for the residents of Stonehouse.

The committee are now looking for the involvement of more volunteers and organisations to ensure the continued success of the Festival. Please come along to the advertised meeting and help provide Stonehouse with a little Christmas Spirit.
